VNTelecom Conference

Founded in 2006, VNTelecom has become a leading forum on ICT (Information and communications technology) with over 24,000 members, including professors, PhDs, engineers, consultants, researchers and students from the Vietnamese community working in the Telco industry.

On November 26 was held the 4th annual VNTelecom seminar on Innovation and Creativity in ICT. This one-day event aims at building a bridge between professionals around the globe to contribute to the Telco development in Vietnam. Around 50 VN Telecom enthusiasts participated to the conference in HCMC (Vietnam) and 80 in Paris (France).

Report from HCM City

In Vietnam, the conference brought together students, VN Express reporters, Telecom professionals and lecturers.

Mr. Minh TRAN DINH, Operation manager for BPO services in Officience, was one of them. He made a presentation about operational innovations in telecom providers. It showed the importance of anticipating the changes. This allows to identify challenges and to implement an innovation strategy aligned with the company’s strategy. For a telecom operator, the relationship with the end customer is the most important. And innovation must be done throughout the organization.

Other topics discussed during the morning in Vietnam:

– ‘Use of Digital Signatures in e-commerce’ by Mr. Nguyen Van ****, vice director of the AITech (Asian Institute of Management and Technology).

– ‘Vietnam spectrum occupancy measurements and analysis for cognitive radioapplication’ by Dr. Vo Nguyen Quoc Bao, lecturer at PTIT (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology).

 From Paris

At the Opening Speech, Duong Duc Dung, Minister Counselor, Embassy of Vietnam, said: “100% of public premises in Vietnam has access to ICT”
Ngoc Anh follow-ups with the major market trends of the telco sector: “Send the right information, at the right time, at the right place… But how about the 70% people not living in the cities? That’s the question”
Two top presentations:
– for those interested in business: ‘M-Payment’ by Pham Tran Dung (La Poste Group)
– for those keen on technology: ‘Multi-homing at transport layer’ by Nguyen Thi Mai Trang (Paris 6 University).
The afternoon moves slowly with a round table about “ICT innovation investment in Vietnam” and an energizing moment with Nguyen Hai Nam, co-founder of thongtincongnghe.com.
Great sessions as usual. See you in 2012 at VNTelecom!
