AI – ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

AI is the abbreviation for Artificial intelligence. This is one of the hottest tech industries in the world, which has been seen as a “monument” in computer technology rather than merely a trend because of the power of its application to industries ranging from service to production, from HR to management, automatic remote control, etc.

AI là chữ viết tắt của Artificial intelligence, nghĩa là trí tuệ nhân tạo. Đây là một trong những ngành công nghệ đang hot nhất trên thế giới, được xem như một “tượng đài” trong công nghệ máy tính hơn chỉ là xu hướng đơn thuần vì sức mạnh ứng dụng của nó vào những ngành nghề khác nhau, từ dịch vụ đến sản xuất, từ nhân sự đến quản lý, điều khiển xa tự động, v.v. 

The most intelligible description of AI is a computer programmer which is capable of mimicking the “cognitive” functions such as the ability to think, act and learn like a human. John McCarthy is one of the “fathers” of artificial intelligence, along with Marvin Minsky, Allen Newell and Herbert A. Simon. McCarthy coined the term “Artificial Intelligence” in 1955 and hosted the famous Dartmouth Conference in the summer of 1956.

Mô tả dễ hiểu nhất về trí tuệ nhân tạo thì đây là bộ lập trình máy tính nhưng có khả năng bắt chước các chức năng “nhận thức” như khả năng suy nghĩ, hành động và học hỏi như con người. Currently, AI technology has 3 main directions:

  • Computer Vision
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Audio Signal Processing

Hiện nay, công nghệ AI có 3 hướng chính:

  • Xử lý hình ảnh (Computer Vision)
  • Xử lý ngôn ngữ tự nhiên (Natural Language Processing)
  • Xử lý tín hiệu âm thanh (Audio Signal Processing)

There are many applications of AI in real life. For example:

  • Virtual assistants like Apple’s Siri, Google’s Google Assistant, Amazon’s Alexa, or Samsung’s Bixby, are capable of listening, understanding, answering and working like a real secretary.
  • Face recognition system through cameras mounted at airports and buildings or systems to unlock phones, laptops using anthropometric methods.
  • Smart TVs apply AI technology to improve picture quality or voice recognition.
  • Google Translate is a classic ANI system with the method of self-translating a series of different languages around the world.
  • The Google search engine is a giant ANI brain with sophisticated methods of ranking web pages and deciding which one to show you. The same goes for Facebook’s Newsfeed.

Có rất nhiều ứng dụng của AI trong đời sống. Chẳng hạn như: 

  • Các trợ lý ảo như Siri của Apple, Google Assistant của Google, Alexa của Amazon, hay Bixby của Samsung, có khả năng nghe, hiểu, trả lời và làm việc như một thư ký thực thụ.
  • Hệ thống nhận diện khuôn mặt thông qua các camera được gắn tại sân bay và các tòa nhà hoặc hệ thống mở khóa điện thoại, laptop bằng nhân trắc học.
  • Những dòng smart TV áp dụng công nghệ AI để cải tiến chất lượng hình ảnh hoặc nhận diện giọng nói.
  • Google Translate là một hệ thống ANI cổ điển với phương pháp tự phiên dịch hàng loạt ngôn ngữ khác nhau trên thế giới.
  • Cỗ máy tìm kiếm Google là một bộ não ANI khổng lồ với những phương pháp hết sức phức tạp để xếp hạng các trang web và quyết định trình ra cho bạn xem cái nào. Newsfeed của Facebook cũng vậy.

There are many types of AI because AI is a very broad concept. The simplest classification is that we need to divide AI based on the capabilities of them. There are three main types of AI including:

  • Artificial Narrow Intelligence – ANI
  • Artificial General Intelligence – AGI
  • Artificial Superintelligence – ASI

Có rất nhiều loại hay dạng của AI vì AI là một khái niệm rất rộng, cách phân loại đơn giản nhất mà chúng ta cần quan tâm là dựa vào năng lực của AI. Có ba loại AI chính bao gồm:

  • Artificial Narrow Intelligence – ANI, trí tuệ nhân tạo giới hạn. 
  • Artificial General Intelligence – AGI, trí tuệ nhân tạo rộng
  • Artificial Superintelligence – ASI, trí tuệ nhân tạo siêu việt

Artificial Narrow Intelligence – ANI, which means limited artificial intelligence. ANI is a type of AI that focuses only on one field. It can only do a certain action programmatically. Most of today’s AI applications in the world are designed in the form of ANI.

Artificial Narrow Intelligence – ANI, nghĩa là trí tuệ nhân tạo giới hạn. ANI là loại AI chỉ tập trung vào một lĩnh vực. Nó chỉ làm được một hành động nào đó theo lập trình cố định. Hầu hết những ứng dụng AI hiện nay trên thế giới đều được thiết kế dưới dạng ANI.

Artificial General Intelligence – AGI, which means wide artificial intelligence. AGI is sometimes referred to as strong AI, or human-grade AI. It is a computer programmer working at an average level of human intelligence, which is capable of learning, feeling, understanding and functioning just like a human. Strictly defining, this is a machine that can perform any intellectual task that humans can handle. Creating AGI is a much tougher task than ANI, and we still cannot do it yet.

Artificial General Intelligence – AGI, nghĩa là trí tuệ nhân tạo rộng. AGI đôi khi được gọi là AI mạnh, hay AI cấp độ người. Nó là một bộ máy thông minh ở cấp trung bình của con người, có khả năng học hỏi, cảm nhận, hiểu và hoạt động y hệt như người. Nói nôm na thì đây là một cỗ máy có thể thực hiện bất kỳ nhiệm vụ trí tuệ nào mà con người có thể xử lý được. Tạo ra AGI là một nhiệm vụ khó khăn hơn nhiều so với ANI, và chúng ta vẫn chưa thể làm được điều này. 

 

Artificial Superintelligence – ASI, which means super artificial intelligence. This is the pinnacle of research on artificial intelligence. ASI ranges from a machine that is only slightly smarter than a human to a machine that is a million billion times more intelligent than a human being. When completed, ASI will be the most transcendent intellectual form in the world, which can be far ahead of humanity.

Artificial Superintelligence – ASI, nghĩa là trí tuệ nhân tạo siêu việt. Đây là đỉnh cao của nghiên cứu về trí tuệ nhân tạo. ASI dao động từ một cỗ máy chỉ thông minh hơn con người một chút cho tới một cỗ máy thông minh gấp hàng triệu tỷ lần một người bình thường. Khi hoàn thành, ASI sẽ là thể trí tuệ siêu việt nhất trên toàn cầu, hơn xa cả loài người.

 

Currently, AI is only in the early stages of development and humans have conquered the lowest level of AI competency, ANI. The AI revolution is the way from ANI, to AGI, then to ASI. This is the roadmap for the future and how long it will take to reach the AGI milestone is still an unanswered open question. However, when AI develops into the form of Artificial Superintelligence, the existence of mankind will become a difficult problem. But no matter what, with the rapid development of technology today, everything will change in the forthcoming time.

Hiện nay, AI chỉ vừa chớm nở ở giai đoạn đầu của sự phát triển và  con người đã chinh phục được cấp độ thấp nhất của năng lực AI là ANI. Cuộc cách mạng AI là con đường đi từ ANI, cho tới AGI, rồi tới ASI. Đây là lộ trình trong tương lai và sẽ thế nào và mất bao lâu để chạm mốc AGI vẫn còn là câu hỏi mở chưa có lời giải đáp. Tuy nhiên, khi AI phát triển đến dạng thể siêu trí tuệ nhân tạo, sự tồn tại của nhân loại sẽ trở thành vấn đề nan giải. Nhưng dù là thế nào đi nữa, với sự phát triển vượt bậc của công nghệ như hiện nay, mọi thứ rồi cũng sẽ thay đổi tất cả.
