Focus on Vietnam

Today marked the start of the photography contest organised by the Vietnamese Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), with support from the International Federation of Photographic Art.

A special category has been introduced: reserved for foreigners living in Vietnam or those who have visited the country, the theme is ‘Vietnam through your lens’. The president of the association said that by including this category he hoped to encourage knowledge sharing between Vietnamese and foreign photographers and enable the Vietnamese to become more professional and improve their photographic skills.

This is just one more area where knowledge sharing between developed and developing countries makes sense! So, if you live in Vietnam or you are one of the 1.5 million tourists who has visited Vietnam since the beginning of 2011 (+10% compared to 2010), what are you waiting for? Join in and share your snaps!

To take part in the 6th international contest of photographic art, you can submit your photos, from today, in colour or black and white by email contestvn2011@gmail.com, via the web site www.contestvn2011.com or by handing your photographs in to the Hanoi office at 51 Tran Hung Dao, Hanoi. You have until 31 August 2011 to take part and the award ceremony will take place in Hanoi in November.

Ready, set, take photos!
