“Can a cement and concrete producer be Green?” A question for Green Drinks Saigon Oct 2012
On October 23, numerous individuals and organizations who are interested in environmental subjects gathered for an interesting evening, looking for answers to the question “Can a cement and concrete producer be Green?”.
Speakers were Mr Bao Nguyen – Holcim Vietnam’s Sustainable Development Director and also Co-Chairman of Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD), Pieter Keppers – Technical Marketing Manager at Holcim Vietnam, and Melissa Merryweather – consultant at Green Consult Asia. Also, people had a chance to swap cards, swap stories, swap ideas, make contacts and enjoy the “green drinks”.
Officience Green Team: attending Green Drinks, but also organizing a yearly Green Day
First organized in Jun 30th 2012 in the garden of Officience, Green Day Officience aimed to promote topics of key importance: the Environment and Sustainable Development.
The programme included a workshop on making objects from recycled materials, a photography exhibition with the theme “Water, the source of life”, a presentation of a software simulation of a hotel’s carbon footprint by the ENERTEAM association, a Green Quiz and a screening of the film Home, by Yann Arthus Bertrand.
Organized by the 30 members of Officience Green Team in association with ENERTEAM and the HCMC Waste Recycling Fund, this first edition raised up the awareness of environment for all the Offies and people outside the company who joined the event that day, that we call the principle objective for a green event.
Thanks to the enthusiastic encouragement of Offies, Green Team is also planning for Green Day 2 on April 19th 2013, hope this project will bring much more success to Green Team and Officience in the upcoming time.
